I RUN this Town!

I just completed my 3rd half marathon – the Blue Nose Half. It was so AMAZING – yet challenging. I know I have said this numerous times in my writing – that running is a mind game. At kilometer 18 I actually said to myself… “Maybe I am not strong enough to finish this”… but then after doing a physical evaluation… my breathing was OK, my heart felt good… my legs were in fact tired – but certainly not begging to stop. The only thing holding me back was my HEAD. I picked up my pace at that moment and finished the race. It was not my best time – but it certainly wasn’t my worst.
Running really amplifies our thoughts… you can always find an excuse to slow down or give up. I am a much better runner today because I don’t let those thoughts get me down. In fact, that is why I love to run! I do yoga and love it but running is my meditation. There is nothing better than running with a clear head… OK I lie – crossing the finish line feels pretty good too!!
Happy Running!
PS – I will try to write more often!
