Have you ever thought of somebody, and they then called you out of the blue? Have you ever eaten food you knew might make you feel unwell, but you did it anyway and got sick? Has the solution to a problem ever come to you just after waking up? Have you ever been able to figure out a problem before others without knowing how?
These are all instances of intuition. Whether you suddenly found an unexpected solution, predicted a future event, or discovered something without knowing how these are all examples of your intuition at work. Intuition is your ultra-processor of all physical, mental and spiritual data.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines intuition as “the power or faculty of attaining direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.” Intuition is arriving at an answer without knowing exactly where it came from.
By using your intuition, you are using all your capacities to solve a problem, make a choice or come to an understanding in a short amount of time. We may think of intuition as using “gut feel,” like a computer that suddenly spits out the answer, but it’s more than that. Our intuition can help guide us to make important and useful decisions, especially when it comes to our own health and wellness.
Psychologist Daniel Kahneman won the Nobel prize for his work on human decision making where he proposed that we have two systems for reasoning. He and his colleague psychologist and mathematician Amos Tversky proposed that in making judgements and decisions we use both System One, the fast and intuitive side, and System Two, the slow reasoning side.
“Intuitive wellness” is the combination of the two words: intuitive (or the act of intuition) and wellness (the state of being healthy).
This program focuses on helping you make health and lifestyle decisions using systems One and Two. Combining both approaches with your own experience and all the knowledge you can access will help you to make better health decisions.
When combined, intuitive wellness is using everything in your capacity including cognitive, unconscious, emotional, past experiences, spiritual and any other potential source to make the best choices for you. Let’s call it Super-Charged Intuition!
Perhaps you have a particular health issue that you are dealing with. Well, you want to bring everything into play to help overcome it and this includes listening to the best medical advice, as well as tuning into your body, mind, and emotions.
Intuitive Wellness is all about using everything possible to make sensible decisions and conclusions. It doesn’t ignore the obvious because what is obvious to others may not be obvious to you. You know if something is wrong or could be better — so listen to your inner voice as well as the best advice from the experts.
Whether it’s your fitness, nutrition, mind, body, or health, listen to your intuition and dive deeply to improve the path that you are on. I believe you can develop the ability to know what’s right for you and what’s not. Tap into your intuitive wellness ability to help make the best plans and decisions for you.
