Over the past eighteen months I’d slowly gained 25lbs and reached my highest weight of 185lbs and it was affecting how I felt about myself in a negative way. I couldn’t even look in the mirror because the majority of my clothes no longer fit. I knew if I didn’t take control and make a positive change to my lifestyle I was headed for a downward spiral.

The tipping point for me was my dad. He has been a diabetic for many years and recently had major surgery. I watched him fight for his life in hospital for months. I knew that I had to do something about my health because I could be heading down the same route. I was afraid.

I made the decision to start living a clean and a healthy lifestyle. Over the years I have tried many fad diets, which all resulted in me gaining the weight back (and sometimes more!) as well as leaving me out of pocket. I had a basic knowledge of nutrition and portion control and I was also attending my local gym. I understood that I needed to exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle; I just didn’t know how to combine nutrition and exercise together. I needed help.

fiercen30-nov-face-webWhen I got the Fierce N’ 30 challenge kit I wondered what I’d gotten myself in to. Planning my meals was new and alien to me. Coming from a Caribbean family, our social life revolves around eating. So consuming two or three portions at one sitting was the norm.

My first step was to go online and start doing some research on how to prepare my meals. Six hours of research resulted in me preparing 35 frozen meals to last me an entire month. I was so excited and proud of myself. This preparation ended up being a huge factor in the success of my journey.

Today, I still do my meal preparation and I still use Heather’s shopping list. I have stuck to the workout schedule but I have adapted it to make it a bit harder. I drink eight bottles of water per day, which, at the beginning, was a challenge. Now I find that I am drinking this amount without thinking about it.

The challenge has been worth the struggle. When I saw the results of the top three in August I couldn’t believe their transformation. Mentally I was ready for the change and they encouraged me to give the program a try. This is the best life-changing challenge program I’ve tried. I have achieved such great results and I have acquired so much knowledge during this Fierce N’ 30 challenge.

I no longer suffer pain in my knee and I now love the mirror. I am a healthier, stronger and more confident person. Prior to my challenge I used to make a lot of excuses as to why I couldn’t work out and now I can’t get enough. I can truly say I love going to the gym—at the crack of dawn.

You can do anything you put your mind, body and soul into. This journey has taught me that all we have is now. The most precious things we have in life are the moments, so let’s make the most of them. Finally, I’d like to say that if you put your mind to anything you can accomplish it. Anyone who is considering making a lifestyle change, I promise you that you won’t regret it. Take chance—I did!

Cover 901 for webAs a fitness and nutrition coach, I’m always looking at ways to help and inspire not only my clients, but others too. It doesn’t take long to see results when making smart health and wellness decisions and following the right program. My Fierce N’ 30 Challenge was created based on years of trial and error with just some of the exercises and food combinations I’ve used successfully on myself and clients. This challenge is only 30 days and the majority of the workouts can be completed in less than 30 mins. The beauty of this program is that you can do it at home or the gym.
